Tagada ha ha yippee ! I wish all of you partying strawberries a Happy New Year! I hope you had a great holiday season full of whipped cream! So, what are your good New Year’s resolutions? Personally, I want 2023 to be the most mysterious and gossip-filled year of my entire magical strawberry life! And to tell you the truth, things are off to a great start for me, because as of this morning, a new case is shaking up the town of Jonathanland! Our star candy maker, Mrs. Lili Smooth, had a very valuable item stolen from her shop, and since she’s very popular here, it’s become a public matter!
Last night, as you know, we celebrated the New Year, and the Johnlanders were in a very joyful mood. Me and my strawberries had a secret party in in the forest, out of sight. The good thing about them is that I don’t have to cast spells on them to make them dance, they love it and they really have good dance moves! So everyone in Jonathanland had a good time and a great evening, except that this morning, one person in town had a bad surprise: Madame Lili Smooth! You already know this famous Queen of Sweets whose delicious sweet treats are successful all over the world. Well, when she went to her store “The Little Gourmet Store,” she discovered that she had been robbed! I’m not talking about some lollipops or candy, no! The only thing that was stolen was her most precious possession: the « Grimoire of Delights. » That’s what she calls a very old book where she has handwritten all the secret recipes for her most delicious sweets. As you can imagine, it’s a very precious item for her, so we really need to investigate and find out committed this crime !
While fleeing, the thief, who had his face masked, passed by one of my strawberries who was walking down a deserted street. She immediately recognized that the person was holding the « Grimoire of Delights » in his hands, and since she thought he looked suspicious, she decided to follow him. Alas, she didn’t manage to catch up with him because apparently he was running really, really fast. But don’t underestimate my strawberries, they have more than one trick up their sleeves! As they have a hyper-developed sense of smell, similar to that of dogs, my strawberry who had seen the mysterious thief, went searching for him, and after a few hours, bingo!
The smell of the old Grimoire led her right in front of the Daiki family’s house. Sneaking inside, my spy could see that the famous book was indeed there, in the room of Hiruma, the eldest child of the family. He is a 17-year-old boy who plays forward for the famous Gold Brothers soccer team. Now I understand how he could run so fast. But why did he commit this theft? The reason is simple: I discovered that his little sister Rukia would be celebrating her sixth birthday in a few days. More than anything in the world, she loves the candies that Lili Smooth prepares, and her brother wanted to make a special order for her birthday. Unfortunately, this kind of request has to be made in advance, and as there was not enough time, Hiruma wanted to take the recipe book in order to prepare the sweets himself and make his sister happy. Why didn’t he just ask to borrow her book? I agree that it’s strange, but sometimes you know, teenagers are complicated!
Anyway, Hiruma went to apologize to Lili Smooth a few days later and returned the book to her. She was understanding because for her, the happiness of children is very important. But she still told him not to do it again. To make it up to her, he even started to help her in the store, and the funny thing is that he seems to like it! Before I finish this story, I’d like to congratulate all of my dear little strawberries because they are still the reason we discover very juicy gossip about the Johnlanders. If we gave them whipped cream every time they did something great, believe me they would be as round as watermelons! They’re real little foodies!
