There are stories you never forget.
Stories that touch your heart… and teach you to never give up.
Today, Toombow Kids takes you to Italy, to Rome, to meet Claudia, a 15-year-old girl.
A normal life, full of dreams
Just two years ago, Claudia had a simple, happy life.
A middle school student full of dreams, she was excited to start high school and finally “feel grown up.”
That Wednesday was supposed to be just another day.
But sometimes… a single moment can change everything.
A day that changed everything
As she leaves school, Claudia rushes home.
Her mom is waiting, they planned to go shopping for a gift for her 8-year-old little sister.
Claudia is happy.
These moments with her mom have become precious.
Since her little sister was born, things had changed… and even if she felt a bit jealous at first, now she just wanted to share.
She says “ciao” to her best friend…
and heads into the busy streets of Rome.
But that day… everything changes.
A car appears.
Too fast.
And in a second… everything falls apart.
Waking up to a new reality
Claudia wakes up five days later, after being in a medically induced coma.
The doctors share difficult news:
she might never walk again.
One word echoes in her mind: maybe.
And sometimes… that “maybe” is enough to keep fighting.
Two years of courage
Today, two years after the accident, Claudia is still here.
Stronger. More determined.
She has gone through multiple surgeries.
She’s working hard in rehabilitation.
Every step is a challenge… but also a victory.
Her little sister has grown up. She’s now 10 years old.
And between them, a powerful bond has formed.
A bond of love.
A bond of support.
Gratitude for those who care
Claudia hasn’t forgotten.
She thanks, from the bottom of her heart, the doctors and nurses who cared for her.
For their patience.
Their presence.
Their kindness.
Because the journey hasn’t always been easy.
Claudia’s message
Before closing this story, Claudia wanted to share a message with all our readers:
“Never lose hope.”
She knows it…
because she was lucky to be surrounded by friends, family, and people who believed in her.
And sometimes, that’s all you need to keep moving forward.
