Hello, my dear little curious ones! Halloween is approaching in Jonathanland, and as every year, our friends Eli Tilmann, Logan Lost, and Johnny Glanderwood set off to find the perfect costume to impress and play their best pranks on Sheriff Hock Duck and their neighbors. This time, they wanted something a bit… different. However, let me tell you, me, Miss Tagada, they were not ready for what was about to happen. Be careful, because the gossip queen that I am is about to spill everything.
It all started on a quiet afternoon. The trio was strolling through the streets of San Africa, where you can always find hidden treasures. In search of the perfect outfit for Halloween, they came across a deserted street where a street vendor had set up a stand with crates full of costumes. So far, so good. Eli, Logan, and Johnny approached, intrigued… And that’s when everything changed!
“Are you looking for something special, my little ones?” said the old lady in a soft voice, almost too soft to be natural, if you ask for my investigator’s opinion.
At first, the group of friends found her rather charming. The costumes she offered were incredible: vampire costumes, witches, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, skeletons, terrifying clown outfits, mummies… There were even accessories like scary masks, capes, pointed hats, bloody fake fangs, etc. And guess what? Our three friends dived into the crates with enthusiasm, thinking they had struck gold. Ah, the innocence of youth…
But you know me, there’s always a “but”. The more they searched, the more the atmosphere became… well, strange. The vendor, who had been friendly until then, began muttering strange phrases. Stuff like, “These costumes are not like the others… You don’t want to know where they come from.” You should have seen the look on our three budding investigators’ faces. They had no clue what was going on! The worst part was when she told them, in a threatening tone, that they had better choose their costume carefully because it would be the last one they ever wore… Can you believe it? That’s crazy!
Johnny, who usually always has a joke to lighten the mood, stayed silent. Logan, on the other hand, was scanning the area cautiously, thinking it was a prank. You would’ve done the same, right? Because I could sense bad vibes from that woman from miles away!
Sensing something was off, they politely thanked the old woman and quickly walked away. But of course, you know how Eli and his friends are: they had to find out more. So, they went straight to the Jonathanland library, their favorite HQ when it comes to solving mysteries.
That’s when the real shock came: while rummaging through an old book of local tales, they came across an illustration that chilled them to the bone. The woman from the stand looked exactly like the witch in an old story. Yes, you read that right, a witch! And according to legend, this witch was known for selling enchanted costumes to those brave enough to wear them. Juicy detail: these costumes were said to trap the soul of whoever wore them. Creepy, right? 🎃
But you know how our three fearless heroes are: they decided not to panic. So, was it just a coincidence? A very realistic look-alike? Whatever the case, next time, they might think twice before rummaging through suspicious crates!
So, my little gossip lovers, be careful where you buy your costumes this year because you never know who you might run into in Jonathanland… Happy Halloween to all!
