Today, Toombow Kids has chosen to take a different look at parenthood.
A sincere look. A human one. A courageous one.
Contrary to common belief, adoption is not always a response to infertility.
For some parents, it is first and foremost a choice of the heart.
A choice to give love to a child who has been deprived of it.
A choice to transform a life.
Sometimes, to save one.
A Concerning Global Reality
According to international child-protection organizations, more than 140 million children worldwide are orphans, with millions growing up without a stable family structure.
Each year:
- Millions of children are born or abandoned.
- Poverty, conflict, and impossible family circumstances create broken childhoods.
- Too many children grow up without security or love.
In many cases, these children do not lack love…
they lack adults willing to give it.
Choosing Adoption When You Can Have Children
Toombow Kids conducted investigations and spoke with parents engaged in the adoption process.
Today, we take you to Seattle, where we met a couple who made this decision with deep conviction.
Julie, 37, and Marco, 44, have been married for over twelve years. Their relationship is strong, balanced, and deeply loving. Neither faces fertility issues.
And yet, after long conversations, one question became unavoidable:
“Why bring a child into the world when so many are already waiting for a family?”
This is a choice made with reflection and purpose.
Never Separating What Has Already Lost So Much
Their reflection went further.
Julie was deeply moved by the fate of siblings separated during adoption.
“I don’t understand why brothers and sisters are separated.
They’ve already lost everything.
If they are two, if they come from the same family, they should stay together.”
The couple therefore decided they were ready to adopt one child, or a brother and sister, refusing to add another separation to an already painful story.
A Long Journey Filled with Hope
After months of reflection:
- They hired a lawyer.
- Began the official adoption process.
- Fully committed to the journey.
Today, they are waiting.
They are waiting for:
- A call.
- A meeting.
- A first look.
Julie has only one wish:
“I can’t wait for a child to call me Mom.”
Adoption: Expanding the World
Every successful adoption is far more than an administrative process.
It is:
- A rebirth.
- A child regaining safety and stability.
- A family growing in a different—but equally powerful—way.
Studies show that children adopted into stable homes have significantly higher chances of:
- Emotional balance
- Academic success
- Long-term well-being
