My dear favorite strawberries,
First of all, let me wish you a wonderful New Year
Tell me… you missed me, didn’t you? I hope you had time to ripen nicely, to be juicy and delicious and most of all, that you didn’t end up in the stomachs of a few overly greedy Johnlanders.
Today, I want to tell you a story that is super cute, a little crazy, and above all 100% Jonathanland.
Jonathanland, that magical city I would never leave for anything in the world…
On the night of December 31st, the air was soft, the lights were sparkling, men wore their finest suits, and women their most elegant dresses. Even Mayor Arthur Froufrou had requested special safety measures so that all the young people of Jonathanland could return home safe and sound after the celebrations. And that’s where our story begins…
Denise Campbell, a Johnland girl celebrating her 18th birthday, decided to welcome the New Year… alone, in a nightclub. Denise wasn’t one of the most popular girls at Alejandro Moya High School. Just a quiet teen, like so many others. Rumor has it she once had a crush on Johnny Glanderwood, the friend of Eli Tilmann and Logan Lost… but Johnny had kindly declined going out with her that night.
So Denise did what heroines sometimes do, without even realizing it: she went anyway.
The music was loud, the lights were colorful, and Denise had… maybe had a little too much to drink.
She danced with everyone, laughed, spun around… until suddenly, around 2 a.m., she started to feel unwell. And here, my dear strawberries, hold on tight.
The DJ, Don Lewis, played a totally crazy song…
With duck sounds: “quack quack!”
And Denise, without realizing how funny it looked, started dancing… THE DUCK DANCE.
At first, everyone laughed. Then something magical happened.
The teenagers formed a circle around her, they started clapping.
And suddenly… THE ENTIRE CLUB joined in, dancing the duck dance
Even Lawna Grayson and her crew, mini skirts, high heels, sweat, and uncontrollable laughter, were quacking along in rhythm
A totally improbable… and unforgettable scene.
That night, Denise who was “no one” in the eyes of the school became THE star of Jonathanland.
Even better: a few days later, Lawna’s group invited her to a party… so she could teach them the duck dance! Since then, young people all over Jonathanland have been saying it everywhere:
Thanks to Denise, they had the best New Year’s Eve of their lives.
And you, my dear strawberries
Imagine all of us together, strawberries, Johnlanders, and friends, dancing the duck dance to start the year with a big smile. Toombow Kids takes this opportunity to wish all its readers a very Happy New Year.
May Jonathanland continue to surprise us… and make us dance
