There are mothers who raise children.
And then there are those who raise a generation.
This February, the month of love, Toombow Kids went to Paris, into a family shaped by strength, memory, and courage. There, we met Fabiola, mother of two, a 15-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son, and above all, the heir to a powerful legacy of love: the love of her mother, Manuela.
From a young age, Fabiola knew she would become a mother.
It wasn’t a distant dream; it was a calling.
Seven years ago, when she first saw her son’s face, she knew without hesitation: he would carry the name of her late mother, a tribute, a continuation, a promise.
“My mom was the most wonderful person in the world. I will never forget her.”
There is no frozen sorrow in Fabiola’s voice, no heavy nostalgia. There is legacy. Because if she is now an attentive, protective, and devoted mother, she owes it to Manuela.
To Be a Mother Is to Protect
Growing up in Paris is a privilege, but also a challenge.
Fabiola watches her daughter step into adolescence with care and awareness.
“I pay very close attention to everything happening around us.”
When her eldest faced difficulties, jealousy, tension, hurtful situations, Fabiola did not hesitate. She rolled up her sleeves, scheduled meetings, listened, explained, and stood firm.
Not out of anger.
Out of justice.
Her mother taught her one essential lesson: never allow injustice to take root. Be gentle, yes. But be strong when necessary.
“When my children are hurt, I become a lioness.”
The Home as a Sanctuary
Fabiola works tirelessly to keep her home a place of peace, where conversations happen, listening matters, and respect is taught and practiced.
Education goes beyond homework and rules. It is about example, dignity, and perseverance.
Being a single mother is not easy. But Fabiola refuses to see it as a burden.
“Yes, there are moments of doubt. But there is also incredible strength. Being a mother is the greatest gift of my life.”
Every morning, she rises with a clear mission: to build, to protect, to love.
Fabiola’s Advice to Mothers
Sharing her experience, Fabiola offers words of wisdom for mothers who may feel alone:
- Never let fear define your worth. Being a single mother does not diminish you, it reveals your strength.
- Protect without suffocating. Listen to your children. Give them confidence to always come to you.
- Turn pain into power. Life’s trials can become pillars of wisdom.
- Build your village. Family, friends, teachers, no one truly fights alone.
Love That Transcends Time
Fabiola wishes her mother could watch her grandchildren grow, offering advice even now in her forties.
“You’re never too old to learn from your mom.”
She believes that love does not disappear. It watches. It guides. It protects.
Perhaps that is the secret of this remarkable mother: she does not raise her children alone. She raises them with the love passed down from Manuela.
In a Paris apartment filled with laughter and dreams, one mother continues the story another began.
And within that invisible chain of love, a new generation grows stronger every day.
