Some stories leave a mark on a lifetime. Others change the world.
In 1996, in the United States, Donna Whitson-Norris, the mother of young Amber Hagerman, deeply moved the entire nation. Her daughter, only 9 years old, went missing. Despite repeated pleas for help and relentless efforts with the authorities, the outcome was tragic. Amber never came home.
But Donna Whitson-Norris refused to let pain be the end of the story. After enduring the most devastating ordeal a parent can face, she transformed her grief into action. This is how the AMBER Alert was born, a system that has since helped save and recover thousands of children across the United States and later around the world. Donna never wanted another parent to experience what she had lived through.
Today, more than thirty years later, that legacy continues to inspire a new generation of solutions.
Within Mason Ewing Corporation (MEC), child safety is not an abstract concept, but a true responsibility. True to its DNA, centered on childhood, family, and innovation, MEC is currently developing an ambitious and hopeful technological project: BLS – Baby Live Security.
Developed in collaboration with Toombow Kids, BLS is a revolutionary initiative designed to strengthen child protection through new technologies. The goal is clear: to prevent, alert, and respond faster, in coordination with the appropriate authorities, particularly law enforcement. BLS is intended to become an intelligent, discreet, and effective tool, supporting parents in what matters most to them, the safety of their children.
Behind this project are dedicated teams, engineers, creatives, and experts, working with a shared conviction: the world can become safer when technology is guided by heart and purpose.
Toombow Kids extends a special thought to all missing children and to all families still living in uncertainty, to those who continue to hope, sometimes in silence. The message is simple, yet essential: never lose hope.
With BLS, Mason Ewing Corporation once again affirms that innovation can protect, reassure, and save lives. Because a child who is safe represents a future that can breathe.
